Pulse Performance Pathway™

Many healthcare providers have discharged their patients before the late and functional stages of rehabilitation. This can have damaging consequences for both the recreational and professional athlete. Our pathway allows you to return safely to your sport or be “work ready” without re-occurring injury

WHAT OUR PATIENTS SAY
Below are a very small selection of our testimonials – look out for more throughout the site!

“Sport is a massive part of my life. While growing up, I spent most weekends sailing in the Junior National Team, no matter the weather. It was, however, sailing, which triggered my first injury in 2005.
Prior to meeting Neil and the PULSE team, I had 8 years of unsuccessful treatments. I was misdiagnosed and treated for psoriatic arthritis and told I had a knee of a 60 year old (whilst still only being a teenager). I honestly thought my days of participating in sports were over, and simple tasks like food shopping would make me bed bound for days after.
When I met Neil in 2013, he looked at me holistically and not where the pain was at a specific point in time. Neil has supported me through the diagnosis of Hypermobility and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome which in turn has helped us to understand why recovery from treatments has been more complex.
My journey has been far from straight forward, more like a rollercoaster, enjoying the highs when they happen; getting out there running half marathons, then working hard in the lows to get me back out there again. Each time, I gained new tools and techniques for my “toolbox” to help keep me moving and enjoying what I love doing.
Neil has taught me so much. How to manage my hypermobility and with his knowledge and contacts has guided me through the years to give me the right skills at each step. This hasn’t just been a list of exercises to perform for a specific condition, but adapted exercises suitable for me. We have looked at orthotics, considering diet and supplements, but also teaching me to keep the “reins” on so I don’t get carried away and do more than I should!
There is never a “quick fix” and I’ve only been able to achieve my goals by putting in the hard work whilst constantly listening to how my body reacts. Now, I am starting to understand what I need to do to manage my conditions, and I have Neil’s support to help me do what I love to do”.

“I have known and worked with Neil and the team at PULSE for over 30 years and I am proud to be PULSE’s first ever patient! All I can say is that I now make a round trip of 190miles to see them if I have a problem that needs fixing. The environment at PULSE is friendly and they understand what it means to me to compete, stay fit and healthy throughout the different phases of my sporting journey. I am now 73 and still striving to be active and challenge myself every day. Neil’s professionalism and friendship has been invaluable”.

“I have been fortunate to be under Neil’s care since 2018, when I suffered two stress fractures in my lower spine. From the outset, Neil took complete initiative—arranging scans, referrals, and consultations with the right specialists, and guiding me through a personalised rehabilitation plan that brought me back to full health. He has treated me for virtually every injury since—from spinal fractures and a broken wrist to wrist cysts, shin splints, and shoulder issues. His depth of knowledge, hands-on skill, and absolute dedication make him a truly exceptional clinician.
But what really sets Neil apart is his care beyond the clinical. He’s consistently gone above and beyond, checking in on my health, asking after my family, and supporting me not just as a patient, but as a person. As a medical student myself, his guidance and encouragement have meant a great deal to me—he’s been a consistent source of wisdom, reassurance, and support throughout my journey.
In 2022, Neil introduced me to Joe in the PULSE team, and the impact has been transformative. Joe’s expertise in strength and conditioning has taken my physical performance to a whole new level—improving my power, resilience, and golf game dramatically. Together, Neil and Joe form an outstanding team whose collaborative, holistic approach has helped me become a stronger, more complete and injury-resistant athlete.
Their synergy is seamless. Both are incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely invested in the wellbeing of those they care for. They don’t just treat injuries—they treat people. Every session is professional yet warm, structured yet personal. They make you feel seen, supported, and genuinely valued.
It is a pleasure to work with them, and a privilege to continue doing so. I trust them completely and look forward to a lifelong continuity of care with two professionals I not only respect immensely but also genuinely enjoy being around”.
